The visual identity reflects the ROC Noorderpoort organisational structure. The structure serves to strengthen the individual positioning of the various ROC Noorderpoort schools as small-scale and distinct units that provide a good fit with their environment and the labour market they serve. ROC Noorderpoort offers a wide range of schools and studies.
A key part in the logo is the stylised lemniscate that forms the two Os in ‘...poort’. The symbol for infinity, the lemniscate refers to ‘lifelong learning’. In addition to regular training, Noorderpoort also offers advanced and retraining courses, as well as on-the-job training. The logo’s basic colour is black. The colour of the lemniscate varies for each school. This provides diversity, yet combines to form a most recognisable appeal. The simplicity of the corporate style reflects the area - strong, proud and down-to earth, yet with plenty of élan.
